Everyone is unique.

When your child is needs urgent intervention or support, 18 months later doesn’t cut it. It is the sad reality that schools are so under resourced that many children in the ‘grey’ area, where symptoms can be masked, or are manifesting in other detrimental behaviour, slip through the net. Children who feel trapped or frightened by their own symptoms are likely to ‘blow’ at unexpected events. Others may suppress these feelings leading to maladaptive choices once they at home.

Unfortunately, there are still a lot of myths surrounding neurodiverse conditions, and with a lack of available training, many children are dismissed from needing support if they do not meet an arbitrary observation. Many parents report that they are told their child ‘is fine’ simply because they ‘can make eye contact’.

The reality is a much greater level of time, nuance and understanding must be applied in order to truly explore a root cause. Our education system, particularly compared to other countries, is extremely focused on very singular styles of learning (often by rote), sat at a desk, where our children are routinely assessed and tested, in the same way. As Einstein once said ‘Everybody is a genius…. but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its entire life believing that it is stupid‘.

Nicola truly is the most knowledgeable person we have ever spoken to about our son. Within half an hour we had learnt more about his condition and responses to the world than we have in his entire life. Her expertise is invaluable to any parent wishing to understand and maximize the support available for their child.

AUTISM ASSESSMENTS

After an in-depth initial assessment, we will arrange an in-person assessment using a range of interviews, observations and clinical thresholds. Assessments are available to children and adults.

ADHD ASSESSMENTS

Immediately afterwards you will be given the ‘headline’ results, followed by a summary results letter. This is then followed by your in depth, and totally bespoke report, tailored to you or your child’s needs.

DYSLEXIA ASSESSMENTS

These reports can then be provided to kick start support. Previously, reports have triggered appropriate classroom support, access adjustments, and in some cases a complete training overhaul for the school!
